Event Details
This event introduces the art and function of framing through a two-part presentation. The first part is a PowerPoint covering the history of frames, types and parts of frames, and the anatomy of a frame. It also discusses design considerations and the role of framing in preservation and conservation.
The second part features a live demonstration showing the tools and materials used in framing. Participants will see how artworks are mounted, protected with glass or acrylic, secured within the frame, and finished with a cover.
Together, the presentation and demonstration provide a brief overview of how frames enhance the display of artworks while helping to protect them.
