Event Details

Basics & Guide to 10 Common Trees & Their Look-alikes. Identification basics will include characteristics of leaves, buds, twigs, bark, and form.  Ten trees and all their identification characteristics will be explained, along with how to differentiate them from similar species.

Presenter Bio:  In addition to being a Rutgers County Agent and Assistant Professor, Jean Epiphan is a New Jersey Licensed Tree Expert and ISA Certified Arborist and certified in wetland delineation, wetland construction, and ecological restoration. In her current role she focuses on improving environmental sustainability and ecological health in ornamental horticulture as well as landscape management and conservation practices. 

North Woods by Daniel Mason is a rich, layered novel that spans centuries of New England history, ecology, human experience-all centered around a single patch of forest and the lives that intersect with it.
